1. Dodge Park
Open throughout the year, N.P. Dodge Memorial Park is Omaha’s answer to your need for outdoor recreation. Set on the Missouri River, Dodge Park offers kayaking, water-skiing, and fishing – plus hiking, baseball, tennis, and soccer across nearly 50 acres.
If you’ve brought the family, don’t miss the Omaha Children's Museum – a 60,000-square-foot learning center set in downtown Omaha. Awarded by the Association of Science and Technology Museums, the OCM features permanent exhibits like Science Showplace, Imagination Playground, and the Creative Arts Center.
For a cultural break in O-town, stay downtown for the Creighton Orpheum Theater. Built in 1895, and listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, the Omaha Orpheum features Broadway shows, intimate concerts, and Opera Omaha.
For the history buff, downtown Omaha also features the Smithsonian-affiliated Durham Museum – formerly the Durham Western Heritage Museum. Housed in the Omaha Rail & Commerce Historic District in the Union Station building, the museum exhibits regional history from Old West to ancient.
